In the year 2010, I went with a group of 12 on a mission trip to Brazil. When I was there, I saw anything to the extreme poverty conditions to beautiful landscapes and love. Love is what I'm gonna talk about today. The couples in Brazil look at each other with such a love that I have not seen a lot of. A lot of people here in Canada take their spouses/soul-mates for granted! And there are a lot of divorces...so sad, when the bond of love bring two people together, only to allow satan to rip it apart. And they give up on one another without even a fight! It's deeply distressing and horrifying! Now I'm not saying Brazil is better! In fact I love Canada, I live here! The culture is just far different than that of Brazil. They too have their fair amount of trials and tribulations in marriages. But when I was there...man. What I saw was a love that you'd think only belongs in fairy tales. The way the man walks with his body in position of strength and protection. Walking arm in arm. His hand resting over hers as it sits in the crook of his elbow. The way he causes her to laugh, or the way he glides her over the dance floor. They're in their own little world of love! I learned a dance there, called the Faha. Like haha, but faha. Now, that is an intimate dance, designed for two people in love. I think it's a dance designed as an excuse for two people in love to be so intimately close that it's not noticed in public so much, because it's a dance! It's beautiful to watch. That's a dance where a little girl just dreams for her prince to come along and whisk her away over the dance floor, and treats her with such tenderness and care, and, love. Now for me to learn that dance, and to learn it with a guy I barely know, was extremely awkward! The instructor got mad at me once or twice, because of the safe distance I put between myself and my partner! My face has never been so red, as it was for those evenings! Anyway, my point is that ladies? Don't just settle for the first guy you meet, or threw yourself at any guy who will take you. God has a man planned for each of us. A man who will love us with such a love that we think should only belong in fairy tales. Most days I can't wait for him to get here! Other days, I think I have lots of time, and i just chill out knowing that he's out there waiting for me too. And that God has this all figured out. All I gotta do, is wait, and be where he wants me at the right time and in the right place. Also, ladies, when your prince gets here, and he happens to be a dancer? Wear something flowy and pretty when you dance!! Lol. I have some videos my mom took of me dancing. If anyone knew me back then...then you know that I was not wearing jeans and a decent shirt, you'd know that it was a bit more drastic than that. You wanna know what I was wearing? REALLY BAGGY SWEATS AND A T-SHIRT THAT HANG DOWN TO MY KNEES!!! I had a horrifyingly sad wardrobe back then...anyway. I'm waiting for my prince. Patiently, I'm remaining pure for the man of my dreams, whoever he may be...are you?
p.s. Ladies? Don't confine him to perfect standards, there aint a man out there who is perfect. Every man comes with faults and baggage. Mistakes turned into regrets. And you know what? We are not perfect either. If I think about me and my life, my past? I'm the most imperfect young woman out there! I come with baggage that lead to a dreadful mistake that I will forever shamefully remember. So don't hold him to perfect standards. Because you know that you aint perfect either. Set the bar high, but not too high. Make him prove to you that he's worthy of your love. That he will protect and be the leader he needs to be. But don't make your standards so high that he can't ever attain them. It will just make his life a misery of pain, and you will never be happy. I think that that is a main problem in life. Women, ladies, and gals, have to endure so much that they set the bar so high that her man can't reach it. And when he can't she's unhappy, she puts that on him. He's unhappy, and it ends ugly for both of them. Be cautious and careful, make sure you take these matters to God, so that when the right man comes, He can show you, and you can be guarented a good and Godly man. But also to be realistic with how high you put the bar, and set your standards. Thanks for your patience as I waited to be inspired to write again. Have a great week, as you bask in God's GREAT Love for you. God bless.
"My beloved speaks and says to me, 'Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away. for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear in the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree ripens it's figs and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise my love, my beautiful one, and come away...'" -Song of Solomon 2:10-13
