Weather

As I sat here, wondering what to write about. It came to me like the snap of a finger. Our emotions are like the weather. When we're angry, our forecast is "Thundering and raining with a chance of lightening." When we feel down, our forecast is, "A mix of dark clouds and rain." When we are happy, our forecast calls for " A day of fun in the sun." You get the picture I'm painting. Our whole life is like a continuous...weahter forecast. But how many of those days, I wonder, were righteous or selfless? How many of those hurt feelings and hurt pride were for the right reasons? When I take a look at my past weather forecasts, there is not one rainy day, that I acted righteous and selfless. Yes, I do eventually fix the problem, but not at first. At first my anger or hurt pride were for the wrong reasons! I acted selfish and didn't think of the other person as I lashed out at them. I was trying to save myself from hurt, rather then, saving the other person from the hurt that I inflicted upon them! So my end note today is, if someone you know and love is hurting...try and fix it. Make they're weather forecast..." A day of fun in the sun!" Have a great day and stay strong in the Lord! I hope, that this was an encouragement to someone.

The Unkown...

It's scary to think of the future, to find out what it holds. The dreadful...unknown. To know; what university or college you'll attend, what spouse God has planned for you, what team you'll play for when you're considered a trading card, what battle you fight next with yourself or with unbelievers...all great concerns, all wonderous unknowns. In a way it's also exciting! For me the greatest concern is, what carreer I'll end up going for. I would love to be a livestock vet, yet at the same time, I would love to serve a couple of years in the war, and come back a firefighter or work my up the ladder, to be a cop in the K-9 division.  Those are all carreers that I love and would enjoy immensley! But only God holds my future. I can disobey Him, but He will ultimatley bring me back to His plan. My goal is to obey Him, though it's not always in my will. If everything went by my will, I know exactly what my future would hold. But my will does not matter, YOUR will does not matter! God's will matter's. I think that's why a lot of people don't believe. They're scared of the unknowns, of what may happen, of what may not happen. Stay strong in the Lord, even though you're scared or uncertain of where God may lead you next or what battle you'll find yourself fighting. But remember, always remember, that you will not fight these battles of life alone, with God on your side, you will always win! Have a great night. Wether you ponder your troubles or simply feel peaceful. God is there...crying with you, at peace with you, watching you...protecting YOU...

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."  Joshua 1:9

"For He has delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my  foes."     Psalm 54:7

Worth It?

I always wonder what heaven is going to be like. All I know is that it's the most majestic and glorifying place in the world. The Lord will be there and; Abraham, Moses, Jonah, Peter, John and so on. Will there be bright green grass? Animals of all kinds? Baseball? Football? Soccer for Kimmy? Who knows. I'm going to tell you a story that may hold some of the answers. Once there was this man, and he was in a hospital, dying of old age, and some diseese. He was about to die, then out of the blue he kept asking his wife, "Do you see all them angels honey? Do you see them?" His wife just looked at him strangely. "Where honey? Where are they?" He looked at the ceiling, smilimg. "Right there, silly." His wife said to him, "honey I don't see them." He looked confused and looked again and said, "look, there are some kids running in the grass! They're playing a game. Haha. Look honey!" his wife looked at him and said, "Honey. I can't see them, so why don't you just tell me all about it." He looked a little sad, that she couldn't see, so he spent a couple of hours just telling her what they were all doing. Than he gasped and started to tear up. "Honey it's Jesus! He's calling me," he sobbed. His wife looked at him and said, "it's okay honey. You can go to Him." He cried and hugged her, told her that he loved her. Then hloding her in his grasp, he closed his eyes, and waited. Slowly he breathed his last breath, and then he was gone. Just like that...I hope that when my time comes, that I can have such a sweet moment as this man did, with his wife and children. More importantly, getting to witness heaven myself. While still alive, before Jesus calls me. I hope this was encouragement to those of you who are struggling to hold on to your faith. It's all worth it in the end. Trust and believe. Stay strong in the Lord. Have a great day as you bask in God's love for you! God Bless.

"In my Father's house are many rooms. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go, to prepare a place for you, I will come back, to take you to be with me. That you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."

Love

The day is finally here for some of you with special friends. I should probably write on love huh? Actually, I had a rough draft to type into here and make it better sounding, but I don't know where it is, so... bear with me as I try to recall what I wrote. Love is respect. For example if you are in a relationship, where the one partner wants to be physical, and the other partner wants to wait, then the first partner should respect the second partner and wait. "True love waits," as my best friends purity ring says. That is a well known true fact. Some people think that love is showing physical feelings. No! That's not true. Love is respect, waiting for marriage, and caring for eachother in a fashionable manor, without giving eachother a piece of your heart, unless you are compatible for marriage. God calls us to wait to be physical until you are married. It's a God given gift to be done only in marriage. So on this special day, show eachother that you love him/her, by waiting and just having a great time without refelcting on the physical attraction. But by getting to know eachother, learn her favorite flowers, learn his favortie desert or hobby. Have a great time as special friends, don't act like a married couple, because you are not yet a married couple. Wait to enjoy being a married couple at the right time. Save yourselves for the marriage bed.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast. It is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self seeking. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perserveres. Love keeps no record of wrong."
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 (NIV)  Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Weapon

Well today I was thinking of the bible, and how it's like a weapon. A sword that can cut deep into the soul. You know the bible is the most apliable book in the word. It's hard core and all truth. I haven't read my bible lately and it's eating at me. I stopped reading it a few weeks ago. But I actually started to let it slide when I was halfway through the Psalms in July-August. There are some painful things in my past that I prefer not to share. But when I was reading through the Psalms, it made me think about my past, and I let it slide after that. The bible can cause you dwell on things you prefer to forget, but it's to help you heal. The bible is a blanket of comfort, and a weapon of truth. Like a sword cuts the skin and causes a deep wound, so the bible can cut into a halfhealed wound, to cause it to clean itself out, and fulfil it's healing. Just another thought to dwell on. Have an awesome day as you think about God, and what he's done for you.

Curls

Everyone knows what curls are. ( At least, I hope everyone does. ) The small twirled wisps that circle round your head, encaging it in this enchanted invention, to bring beauty to your dull or delightful face. I often wonder what Jesus's hair looks like...if He has beautiful, majestic curls circling His head in a protective cage. To me, He must! Because curls are the most glorious hairdos of all hairdos. a tousled, intriging outside, with a soft inside. Untouched with the dreaded hairspray. Du, Du, Dummmm! You know I have spent pointless minutes and hours, trying to count hair! I lose track and get bored after I reach 10. Haha...only Jesus knows the exact number of hairs; exact stlye and cut, shape and color of every single human beings head! Amazing. It's truly awesome to bask in God's glory every single day. Do you bask in the glory of God? Do you focus on the little details, and praise Him for it?

Famine

You know, there are a lot of great foods out there, with tons of calories! Since I have been on this diet...I dwell upon the emptiness in my belly, and the reading of a calorie chart. I am not starving at all. But I do know what it's like to be hungary now. So I also dwell upon the third world countries that can't eat like I can. Everytime I hear and feel my tummy rumbling, I try my best to pray for those kids and adults, to praise Him that I have food in my belly at all! And I try to remember to also pray that they would find peace with God. To let his living word fill their empty belly's. You know...I have friends who don't encourage me on this diet. They think I'm insane and that I'm gonna die from this. But what they don't know, is that, while they are eating like kings, there are thousands of children starving at that moment, and are filled with envy, that we are eating. This so called "dumb idea" of being on a diet, has opened my eyes in a new way. All I can say now is...Thank-you God.

Edmonton Quiz Tournament

Okay, so in my colume of about me, I had mentioned that I love bible quizzing. Now some of you probably don't know what that is. Bible quizzing is a sport, that does'nt get to be called a sport. You memorize verses that suit your fancy. Then you practice them, and at the tournament, you jump and jump and jump. It's all of western Canada. More than three hundred kids show up! It's tons of fun, and depending on your team score and personal score, you win medals and ribbons. It's just like any sport, it uses muscles, hard work, and a lot of consentration. An unknown sport to the wrold. But anyway, I'm gonna give you updates for each tournament, now that you know what it is. This tournament we went to Ellersly in Edmonton. And our team placed fifteenth in championship. Team two placed foruth, team three i don't exactly know, and the rookie team, team four placed third in the rookie division! We all did extremely well. But next tournament we plan to do a lot better! So next time, hopefully I can report a better job well done! That's all for now, write to you soon.
