Come Away...

Hey everyone. I also like this song, it is also a Hunger Games soundtrack. I hope you enjoy this one as well. These last two songs, are like my top favorite right now. I still am anxiously awaiting for a chance to go see it! Lemme know what you thought of this one. God bless. Have a good week. And if you could remember to pray for us this weekend. Our quizzers are going to the final tourney of the year in Edmonton. So prayer for safety and so on would be appreciated! LATER!

The 'Trap Door Spider'

            I learned this in Science and figured I'd share it with you. Hehe. Oh the fun in biology...anyway, {the trap door spider digs a shallow hole in the ground and then weaves a "trap door" out of silk. The trap door is attached to the ground at one end but is free to move everywhere else. The spider holds on to tiny "handles" that it weaves into the trap door and keeps it slightly ajar. When an insect or crustacean walks by the spider jumps out of the trap door, startling and killing it's prey. It then drags it back into the hole and closes the trap door, feasting on it's catch. Other spiders spin single strands of silk with very sticky ends. They launch the silk at their prey, catching them and reeling them in!}  -Dr. Jay Wile & Durnell.
       How intricately designed is our world that we live in? How fascinating it is to me. This world, if you look at it, is a continuous life lesson to us humans. From a deadly tape worm; to the "trap door spider..." to the solar system and the countless stars in the sky. Simply astounding! So my questions are these: Do we pay attention to God's painting around us? Do we take note of the tiny details that He painted that could help us perfect our paintings? The paint trail we leave behind? The skills that He gave us? Do we look for the clues in God's creation, to apply to our lives? Just another observation to share with you. Another post to show how focused and well, distracted I can be. Even the rolling clouds, gets me thinking deep and theological! Hope this comes across as an encouragement. Have a wonderful week!

     "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith. Because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings."  -1 Peter 5:8-9  (NIV)

       " The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you."    -Psalm 9:9-10   (ESV)

Trichinosis

         For those of you who do not know what Trichinosis is. I will explain. Trichinosis is a disease that can be fatal. Nearly five percent of people die from it. But in order to know what this disease is, I need to explain who causes this disease. It is a worm called Trichinella. They live in the intestines of pigs, and other game animals. Also keep in mind this verse as I further explain;
      "...and the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you." -Leviticus 11:7 (ESV)
      'When the female Trichinella reproduces, the young make their way to the host's blood vessels, and from there, they go to the host's muscle tissue. Once in the muscle tissue, the young develop for about 14 days and then form cysts, which allow them to survive there for a long time!
       When a person eats pork or other game animals that are infected with these worms, the digestive juices in the person's small intestine free the juvenile worms from their cysts, and they begin to develop and mature, reaching adulthood in about two days! As they mature, they cause severe irritation of the intestinal tract, resulting in abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and watery stool. When the worms mature, they mate. the young produced by this mating migrate to the muscle tissue, and cause muscle damage which often results in muscle pain, swelling, and joint pain. Such infection is called Trichinosis. Although most people who contract this trichinosis recover in about six months, the disease often results in permanent heart or eye damage. Nearly 5% of trichinosis cases are fatal.
    Many Old Testament scholars consider some of the dietary laws of the Israelites (see Leviticus 11:7 above for example) God's way of protecting his people from trichinosis. To completely kill the worm cysts in pork, the meat must be frozen at 5F for 21 days or -22F for 25 hours. Clearly, such processing was not available to the people of the Old Testament times; thus, God decided to protect His people from trichinosis by simply forbidding them to eat pork.'     -Dr. Jay Wile and Durnell.
     Wow...like that is simply fascinating and amazing. Like the Trichinella worm, the devil is very much like that in our lives. It's a deadly disease that will kill us. The only cure is God Almighty. It makes you wanna faint, just to think of those worms in your body, causing all that damage, slowly killing you. The devil also very subtly takes hold of us, and causes damage inwardly, and in the case of Job, outwardly as well! God is protecting us, but he can't if we refuse him. Yes, He could force protection upon us. But what would that teach us? We wouldn't even give him a second glance if he always kept us safe, would we? He gave us the choice, Because he wants us to want him. 'Sometimes, in order to heal us, God has to hurt us.' -Tenth Avenue North. Sometimes we are hurt in life. And we blame God. But if i'm right, when you look back at that time. What happened? Though you pushed God away at first, wasn't the end result, that you drew closer to God?For me there is no question, that I want God. Not just for his protection in my life. But for his Love for me. What he did for me on the cross. And for my inheritance. Heaven. I don't want the devil. I don't want the promise of pain, and scars, the promise of darkness and strife, or his inheritance. Hell. Personally I'd rather go with God, wouldn't you?
