So as promised I am writing you a post today! I am still unsure of what I'll write. So I hope it comes to me as the idea forms. Alright so, my family and another family are going through a Revelation bible study. And we are in chapter 7 next week. But I have learned so much, that I decided to share some of what I have learned with you guys. I hope you enjoy! Revelation 5 starting in verse 1;
"1. 'Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. 2. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scrolls and break it's seals?' 3. And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look in it, 4. and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. (This is when the apostle John was on an island and the Lord was showing him these visions.) 6. And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. (the number seven is frequently used in revelation. It represents the perfect number of God, which goes all the way back to Genesis when God created the world in seven days.) 8. And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders, fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9. And they sang a new song, saying 'Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open it's seals, for you were slain, And by your blood you ransomed people for God, from every tribe and language and people and nation, 10. and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.' "
What an amazing piece of scripture! No one could open the scroll! Until the Lamb, which is Christ, came and opened it. Now read this next scripture from Daniel 12 starting in verse 4;
" 4. But you Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end, Many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall increase. 5. Then I Daniel, looked, and behold, two others stood, one on this bank of the stream and one on that bank of the stream. 6. And someone said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, 'How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?' 7. And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward the heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished. 8. I heard, But I do not understand. Then I said, 'O my Lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?' 9. He said, 'Go your way Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the times of the end.' "
My dad told me that when a sheep gets attacked. It just lays down on the ground and does not fight back! It lets the animal rip it apart. Literally. It willingly lays down it's life. Now if you look at Revelation, the Lamb that was mention in verse 6, stood as though slain! The Lord Jesus Christ, the 'Precious Lamb of God' was slain for us. He willingly laid down his life for us! And when the Lord told Daniel to shut the scroll and have it sealed until the end of time, when it painted a picture of the end...no one could open the scroll!! Only the Lamb of God was WORTHY enough to break it's seals and open it! Wow! What an amazing Lord we have! And as God and Jesus are one, really the only being capable of opening the scroll was God Almighty Himself. Simply amazing. I hope this makes sense. I hope you have seen what I have seen and understand the meaning. There are many things to look at in these passages, but the one thing I wanted you to see was the wonder of our Lord. That the holy scroll, can only be opened by someone who is worthy...we are not worthy! We are not even close to being worthy. Only our Lord is worthy. And it's because of what He has done for us that we are considered righteous, and it is only through Him that we are made Holy. Have a great weekend, as you bask in the love of our most Worthy Lord!
